Futsal4Kidz rules
Understanding and adhering to the rules is crucial for a positive and enriching experience at Futsal4Kidz. These rules are designed to ensure fair play, safety, and fun for all participants.

Team format & game play rules
Team Format:
4 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper
4v4 for elementary gyms, 5v5 for larger ones
Game Play:
No throw-ins: use kick-ins (indirect, within 4 seconds)
No offsides
Substitutions anytime via the bench area
1 timeout per half per team
Restart from the goalkeeper (no goal kicks)

Fouls & discipline
Accumulated fouls tracked each half; 5+ = penalty kick
Yellow card = 2 min out, team plays short
Red card = rest of game out, team down a player for 5 min

Goalkeeper rules

Must wear a different colour shirt.

He/she may wear long pants and/or other padding as deemed safe by the match referee.

May receive a kick-in directly.

May kick the ball directly over the halfway line.

May score directly with his/her feet during the run of play.

May not possess the ball for more than four seconds in his/her own half.

May throw the ball directly across the halfway line.

May not score a goal by using the hands (cannot throw or hit the ball directly into the goal, unless any player on the pitch makes contact).

Cannot touch the ball again in any way within his own half after releasing the ball into play unless an opponent has touched it or it has gone out of play.

Can not receive a pass back on their half, unless the ball crosses the half-court line.

Equipment & safety
• Home teams should have pennies available in case the opposing team has the same color uniforms.
• Players must wear shin pads and appropriate indoor gym floor footwear.
• No jewelry or watches can be worn.
• Glasses are not recommended for play due to the possibility of face lacerations; please use sports goggles or safety glasses covering them. (Players assume all risk)
• No gum chewing.
• Players will conduct themselves with respect for opposing teams, coaches, referees and host schools or will not be invited back.

Hosting schools must

Have first choice for game ball (League size regulations).

Provide the score sheet for the game and call in or update the site.

Provide the scoreboard and operators.

Help track score sheet information with volunteers.

Have regulation Futsal goals (Handball are also valid)

Provide an area for opposing teams.
